For the second year in a row, the Wheatbelt Business Network is holding the Wheatbelt Business Excellence Awards with more entries received this
year from businesses right across the region. “We received over 50 entries into the business awards with 33 finalists announced,” said Amanda Walker, WBN
Chair.

The 33 finalists will compete for 6 award categories over two award nights in Quairading (7 July) and Bindoon (14 July). “On the night finalists will be treated to keynote speakers Carl Della, of Corporeal Health in Northam who was last year’s WBEA Business of the Year and a WA Business News 40under40 finalist; and Jim Walker of Attitude Ajustment, a leadership and business development coach”

Six independent judges who are successful entrepreneurs in their own right judged the entries. Judges were very impressed by the finalists and their innovation. One finalist, Chloe Tienhoven of Wave Rock Country Cottage commented that: “It was a fabulous exercise to make you really look at your business. I have found the awards process very rewarding for the future of my business.” Creative IQ’s Anna Dixon of Northam
agreed. “The process can highlight something else you’d love to pursue or amp up in your business.”

Promoting and supporting small business in the region is the WBN’s passion. “We have some exceptional small businesses who are quiet achievers,” said
Amanda Walker, WBN Chair. The awards are generously sponsored by the Small Business Development Corporation, Commonwealth Bank, the Hon Darren West, Hon Mia Davies, Heartlands WA and the Chittering Chamber of Commerce.
