The Moora Race Club is now over 110 years old. Established in 1907 the early years were humble beginnings, but through good times and bad, the spirit, tenacity and persistence of the people of Moora (along with a handful of extraordinarily hard working, horse mad, fanatics aka The Committee) have kept Thoroughbred Racing and this very special day alive. Today the Moora Races are one of the most anticipated social events in WA and arguably the Premier Country Race Meeting on the Calendar.

Attendance at the Moora Race Day has grown by leaps and bounds since it’s resurgence in 1993. Race Day is not only well supported by the local community, many patrons travel to Moora from the surrounding districts, and a large number of patrons travel from Perth and beyond especially for the event.

The Moora Race Club is looking for sponsors and volunteers to help make this year’s racing event a successful day. Moora Race Club President Greg Wright encouraged local business to support this yearly event as it brings in much needed publicity and money into our town. Greg would like to like to acknowledge Moora Toyota as the major sponsor of the Moora Cup and TAB Touch as the sponsor of the LL White Memorial Sprint, Melrose Store/Cellarbrations and Primaries/CRT, without this sponsorship the Moora Races would not be the great event that it is today.

This year the Race Club has been busy with improvements to the race course with a new swap box, some much needed repairs to the Grandstand and the camera platform has a new roof.

President Greg Wright would like take this opportunity to thank the community organisations that help with the running of the bar, the children’s Activities, tote and gate and a mighty big thanks to all the volunteers that help out on the day and throughout the year to make this race day the successful event that it is.

The Moora Races Saturday 12 October 2019 provides a fun day for all with a special emphasis on being a family-oriented affair.
Race Day activities include a Fashions on the Field Parade for the ladies and gents with great prizes up for grabs.

This year Moora Race Club are delighted to have Soklich & Co Jewellers come on board as a sponsor for the Fashions on the Field. The winner will receive this beautiful West Australian 18 carat yellow and white gold pendant. Set with a 0.28 carat Round Brilliant Argyle Champagne Diamond, five white diamonds and a fabulous Natural Broome ‘Keshi’ Pearl. Handmade in their South Perth store. It is valued at over $4,000.
There are a host of events just for the kids too. There are full Bar, Food Service, Tote facilities, and on course Bookmakers. After the races DJ Mondii will be there to entertain the crowd.
