The Shire of Gingin is pleased to announce that repair works to the Jim Gordon VC Trail have been completed and the boardwalk has reopened for public use.
Approximately 130m2 of the historic timber boardwalk was destroyed by fire last year and has been reinstated using a combination of jarrah and treated pine.
Shire President Michael Aspinall was impressed with the finished result. “The boardwalk looks great,” he said. “The work is of a high standard and I believe it is a fitting tribute to the memory of Jim Gordon.”

The new section of boardwalk was also opened in time for the recent Gingin Triathlon which showcased the attractive natural ‘garden’ of Gingin Brook to approximately 110 competitors who did the running leg.

The reinstatement works were carried out by Devco Contracting Wangara and the timber was supplied by Bunnings Neerabup. The Shire of Gingin would like to thank the community for its patience during the repair process.
