Mortlock Football League were successful in securing the Bert McClements shield as Moora hosted the 9th annual Northern Regional Colts Carnival over the weekend of 15 and 16 June.
Representatives from five teams from north and south of Perth were part of the competition: Avon, Great Northern, North Midlands, Central Midlands Coastal and Mortlock.
During the carnival, it was certainly evident that there is some up and coming talent in the Mortlock league. All team members played their role well, with great use of the ball and a selfless style of play.
Players Regan Flahrety, Thomas Moore, Mitchell Lord, Kelly Jones, Charlie Harrington, Bryce Watson, Kaleb Siegart, Scott Smith and Tristin Pearson all made the initial selection for the Northern Suns All-Star team who will play at the 2019 Colts Country Week Carnival in Mandurah on the 11-13 July. Tom Orford from Cervantes Football Club will coach the side.
Mortlock’s success continued with team member Thomas Moore named as Player of the Carnival for the 2019 season.
