The success of the 2018 Chittering Car Day has enabled donations to two local groups.
Chairman of the car club, Roland Thomasson said it was a great pleasure to present donations to two very worthy local groups, the Chittering Cancer Support Group and the Upper Chittering Bush Fire Brigade.
“The cancer support group provide a very essential service to individuals and their families when they have been diagnosed with cancer,” he said.
“Our club recognises just how important this can be in a time of anxiety and fear of what the future holds.
“We hope our donation can assist this committed group of people to continue their wonderful work.”
Facilitator Jan Petersen said it was a wonderful surprise to receive the donation.
“We extend our thanks to the members of the car club.
“We plan to use the money to make up pamper packs to distribute to newly diagnosed patients.
“Each pack will have a variety of information brochures, cosmetics and other items to help patients,” Mrs Petersen said.
Mrs Petersen encouraged anyone who needed support to contact the group who were only too willing to offer help during what can be a very worrying time.

The cancer support group will hold their Biggest Morning Tea 24 May at the Chinkabee Bindoon.
Captain of the Upper Chittering Fire Brigade, Will Lee said he was pleased to accept the generous donation from the car club.
“The funds will be put to good use to continue the training of our volunteers, “ he said.
