The Shire of Gingin welcomes Anna Spetikova as its new Youth Officer.  This newly created position will see Anna connect and engage with young people aged 10-25 years in the Shire of Gingin,  to seek their input in youth projects, activities and events, as well as fostering partnerships and future opportunities with the region’s youth stakeholders.

Anna comes to the Shire with experience in Community Services and has spent the last two years in the Perth Northern Suburbs co-facilitating a range of community programs, and advocating for children and families. She also has a background in Early Childhood Education, and Care and Disability Services, and her friendly and outgoing personality will be a perfect fit for the Shire’s Youth Officer role.  Anna is looking forward to learning about the Gingin Shire and its people, and her goal is to successfully promote interest and engagement in youth-led projects that will be valued by the community.

The Youth Officer position was created in response to the community’s wish – as part of its Strategic Community Plan —  to improve opportunities and outcomes for Gingin Shire youth.

Anna, who is originally from the Czech Republic, came to Australia in 2010 and spent the first four years studying in Sydney before relocating to Perth, and will be working part-time one to two days per week from the Shire of  Gingin Administration Centre in Gingin.
