Bindoon Mowers and Machinery has been nominated for the Prime Super Business Achievement Award in the 2018 Western Australian Regional Achievement and Community Awards.
They are now in the running for the $2000 award prize to be presented at an Awards Gala Presentation Dinner on Friday 19 October.

Bindoon Mowers and Machinery was opened by a young brother and sister team, Justin and Rachel Witnell, in January 2016. It was started from scratch with only one toolbox, a rusty old workbench made from a repurposed bed frame, and a few small service parts.

This business now provides servicing and repairs of all small engines and machinery, quality spare parts, new machinery and batteries for all machinery. Recently it has also branched out into second-hand machinery sales and equipment hire.
They have built a loyal customer base and enjoy giving back to the community.

“Many of our customers have been with us since the early days and regularly commend us on the rapid growth and success of the workshop. They say it’s getting better every visit,” says Rachel.
“We try to make as much of a contribution to the local community as we can. We have taken on work experience students from the local college, teaching them about the trade of small mechanics. Joining the Chittering Chamber of Commerce has allowed us to network with other local businesses and use their services, thus helping to boost the local community economy.”

“Recently we also donated hundreds of dollars worth of hand tools (some obsolete antiques) to the local Men’s Shed,” she continued.
Bindoon Mowers and Machinery recently had a great deal of success in the Wheatbelt Business Excellence Awards 2017. They were awarded Micro Business of The Year and overall Business Of The Year.

Justin and Rachel also took out the Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award and were recently nominated for the 2018 Western Australian Young Achiever Award.

They have experienced rapid growth in their business. “Our most recent achievement is our newly acquired dealership with Bushranger. We have renovated the workshop and are currently putting in a new showroom with lighting and shelving for our new products. This is a very big step for us and we feel as though we have just reached a new level. We cannot wait for the new showroom to be finished,” said Rachel.

We wish Bindoon Mowers and Machinery all the best with their award nomination.
