The year is flying by and the term 3 holidays are just around the corner! There are some great free activities happening in the area.

The City of Swan are holding kids nutritional cooking classes at the Ethel Warren Bullsbrook Community Centre on 29 September. Classes for 3 to 6 year olds are run from 9-10am and 7 to 12 year olds from 10.30-11.45am. Registrations are essential and you can contact Jenna on 0427 163 317 or email jenna.whistler@swan.wa.gov.au for more information. Also on the 29 September in Bullsbrook, at the Bullseye Youth Centre, is a Triple P Pool Competition (pizza, pool and paddle pops!). Show off your skills and be crowned king or queen of the table and be in with a shout of winning a host of prizes! The competition is suitable for 12-17 year olds and registrations can be made by phoning Trevor on 0428 633 034 or emailing trevor.bly@swan.wa.gov.au

In Lower Chittering on 4 October children’s writer and illustrator James Foley will be conducting a comic book and writing techniques workshop at the Lower Chittering hall from 10-11.30am. Registrations for this fantastic class can be made through the Shire of Chittering on 9576 4600.

The Gingin Discovery Centre is holding rocket making and launching sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the holidays; and astro kids’ sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, where you can get a glimpse of the sun through their solar telescope! The GDC is also open on Friday and Saturday nights for stargazing from 7pm. Bookings for these activities can be made on 9575 7577.
