Local brewers Peter and Adam Watts from Outback Brewing Co took out the BWS People’s Choice Award at the Beerfest event held on 20 January at Elizabeth Quay.
The criteria for the People’s Choice award was “The stall that you just keep coming for, the bar with the funkiest vibe, friendliest bar staff, most moorish beers, or a combination of all of the above” — high praise for the Lower Chittering brewers who were set amongst some big players in the beer business, such as Little Creatures and Feral Brewing Co.
Their Raspberry Cider, Session Ginger Beer and Strawberry Milkshake IPA beverages were a hit amongst the hundreds of people who flocked to Elizabeth Quay to sample the brews and have a chance to chat one-on-one to the brewers.
The brothers have also attended other Beerfest events across the nation, in Sydney and Launceston.
Outback Bewing Co have enjoyed great success for a business not even a year old. This a testament to Peter and Adam’s more than a decade of experience in the brewing industry, and their committment to using quality, local and natural ingredients in their products.
