WOW!! What an awesome day we had in Watheroo on Saturday for our 2018 Gravel Grinder Challenge. We could not have asked for kinder weather or better company to share our day with. Our committee, some old and some new, would like to take this opportunity to thank every person who contributed in any way to ensure that the day was a huge success.
We are fortunate to have so many willing people who give up their time to volunteer for the many jobs required to run this event. Our colourful crews on the change over points, the creative ladies in the kitchen, the ladies at the registration points in Moora and Watheroo, the bus driver, the sweepers, our social media guru, bar staff and last but not least the guys who ensure that all signage is erected and put out correctly for the event. You all know who you are and we thank you and appreciate your time and effort.
The theme this year was 80’s and many made the most of the opportunity to bring out all their zany 80’s outfits – keeping competitors smiling throughout the races!
We are also fortunate to have many sponsors who generously donate to our event enabling us to keep the costs at a minimum for our participants. Plum Grove, WFI, Grain Growers, IGA, Yarra Sand, Primaries, Summit Fertilizers, CBH Group, Elders Insurance, Moora Embroidery and Shire of Moora.
This year we had live music provided by Drifters Duo, and our late night entertainment by DJ Daveydee.
But of course our event would not be successful without YOU, the participants riding in our 3 events. There were many familiar faces among the riders who we love catching up with each year and lots of new riders who we hope to see back next year!!
