Well known author and life educator Maggie Dent, presented two workshops in Moora recently – one for women and one for men, as part of a joint West Midlands
Group and Dandaragan CRC event.

“Gather the Women: Building Resilience & Inner Strength” explored how women can build their resilience. Maggie outlined the warning signs of stress, and
how to lift yourself mentally & emotionally.

Throughout the room the atmosphere resonated with the quotes:
“Your value does not decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth”
“Be yourself, there is only one of you”
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of memories we have”

This was followed by a strictly men’s only workshop entitled “Secret Men’s Business: Why Men
Matter”. During the workshop, Maggie covered how to be a healthy & happy man on all levels, all in her ‘bloke friendly’ way.

MC for the women’s workshop was Judy Snell, RSM and for the men’s workshop was Michael Monaghan, Rabobank. They both did a wonderful job so congratulations and thank you very much. We would also like to thank Matt Stenhouse, CBH Group and Kane Zaknich, RSM who maned the bar.

The venue was beautifully decorated with native banksias and palm fronds arranged by Sara Kenny WMG Women’s Committee member, Joy Williams and Melanie. Thank you very much for your contributions. Upon the conclusion of each workshop a raffle was drawn kindly donated and presented by Maxine Santich, Helping Minds. The winner from the women’s workshop was Georgie Saddler of Wongan Hills and the winner from the men’s workshop was Michael Huendlings of Badgingarra.

A sundowner BBQ kindly sponsored by Rabobank was enjoyed by all the men. Thanks to Ethan Sirr and David Wyllie for cooking the scrumptious burgers. The WMG and Dandaragan CRC would also like to thank and acknowledge our sponsors for the day: the Shire Dandaragan, Summit Fertilisers, Rabobank, Farm Weekly, Tronox, RSM, CBH
Group and our event sponsors, the Northern Agricultural Catchments Council (NACC), the Australian Government National Landcare Program and Helping Minds.
