A fabulous day on March 13 at Moora when 75 racers participated at the 2016 Triathlon. Competitors travelled from across the Northern Valleys from the Shire of Chittering, Gingin, Dandaragan, Victoria Plains to join Moora for their 11th triathlon.
Once again a well run family friendly event which offered competitors a chance to progress their personal best and enjoy the camaraderie of being a part of such a wonderful day out. Having completed the first triathlon of my life I concur with the look on David Roe’s face – the sweet relief in completion. Fortunately for all competitors, the conditions on the day were near perfect with low winds and mild temperature, helping everyone achieve their personal bests and even a few race records were broken.
Cr KM (Ken) Seymour Shire President presented winners with their generous sponsor donated prizes and welcomed all from around the region and shared his enthusiasm for a triathlon circuit across the region. Events like this involve a number of volunteers behind the scenes as well as on the day – my heartfelt thanks to all who offered water and cheered us on as we made our way through the circuit.
