At Bindoon Primary School we have recently begun our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) journey! Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is an evidence based approach that establishes social culture and behavioural support systems to help establish a more effective learning environment for all students.
In the first stage of implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) schools develop clear behaviour expectations. By consulting with staff, students and families we have developed four expectations. These are currently known as the Bindoon Bees. Our expectations are Be Respectful, Be Positive, Be Empathetic and Be My Best.
The next stage for our school is to develop visuals for our expectations. Visuals are a very important part of the program as they reinforce the expectations around the school. A picture is worth a thousand words!
We would like to invite artists of all ages in our local community to assist us by designing four characters that represent our expectations. These characters will be used around the school on all our posters and banners. Currently we have developed the idea of bees as they represent a group who work together to achieve a common goal, which is how we feel about our wonderful school. However, we are open to other suggestions that represent our local community.
If you enjoy drawing and think you could help us develop four fun characters that will help describe our values to our children and to the whole community we would love to see your sketches!
