The Shire of Chittering is thrilled to announce their receipt of a $438,581 Lotterywest Community Spaces grant.  With the addition of funds and in-kind support committed in Council’s 2013-2014 budget the $648,000 project can be commenced and completed during this financial year.

Mr Shane Love MLC, Member for Moore, presented Mr Alex Douglas, Chittering Shire President, with a framed certificate from Lotterywest confirming their support.

The Bindoon Town Hall, constructed in 1939 with additions in 1957, is one of Bindoon’s most prominent landmarks and this restoration project will return it to its original state so as to ensure that the community can continue to use it for many years to come.

Apart from the addition of disability access and toilet facilities the works to be undertaken include drainage improvement, replacement of windows, doors and external panels along with both internal and external painting.
