The picturesque grounds of Bindoon Primary School were filled with sunshine and festivities for the annual School Fete and Mango Festival held on Saturday 16 March.
Collaboration with local businesses and mango growers led to a fun and fruity mango theme celebrating the local mango season.

Trays of fruit from JJ’s Farm and Avalon Farm were on offer at farm gate prices, along with plenty of local produce, crafts and plants. A huge range of activities including a climbing wall, foamy slip n slide, haunted house and pony rides made the morning a kids paradise.
Freshly made mango smoothies, mango chicken curry pies from the Bindoon Bakehaus and sticky mango chicken wingdings and pork and sliders prepared by Northern Valleys Quality Meats were a huge hit.

Organised by the Bindoon Primary School P&C and made possible by generous sponsors, supporters and volunteers, the festival raised over $12,000 which will go towards upgrading the school library.

The P&C would like to particularly thank gold sponsors Chittering Shire, Tronox, Bendigo Community Bank Bindoon, Road Safety Commission; silver sponsors Bindoon Mediterraenean Restaurant, The Nationals WA, Bindoon IGA, Northern Valleys Locavore Store and Northern Valleys News. Many local supporters including Bindoon Mitre 10, BEAT, Youth Krew, Northern Valleys Quality Meats, Bindoon Bakehaus, Mark Leuba Electrical, Christian Porter, Roxanne’s Dance Workshop, JJ’s, Avalon Farm and other stallholders made valuable contributions.

“So many volunteers gave their time and of course thankyou to all the people who came along and enjoyed the event – it was truely a wondeful community event!” said Amy McAuliffe, P&C Vice President.
