AFL rookie Matthew Taylor visits junior footballers

The Gingin Junior Football Club were treated to a visit from former Chittering Broncos junior footballer, and now AFL rookie for North Melbourne, Matthew Taylor.

Matthew was enjoying a visit home during his team’s bye round and at his own instigation offered to visit the team and pass on some knowledge. He took the team through some exercises, including ball-handling skills, and the kids were most excited to learn they were doing the exact same drills as their idols in the AFL. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all the kids (and their parents!) and Matthew happily posed for photographs and fielded questions from his young fans after the session.
After leaving the team with their new skills and a motivational talk, it might not be too far into the future when we see another AFL rookie drafted from the Northern Valleys!
