The Central Midlands Coastal Football League had a successful Landmark Countryweek Carnival winning Division 2 by defeating Goldfields at Medibank
Stadium by 32 points. The Carnival started out in the country with Central Midlands Coastal playing Mortlock in Moora on June 17th. This match was going to probably decide which team would play in the Grand Final for Division 2 North. Central Midland Coastal ran out winners by 22 points with some quick ball movement and an efficient midfield that will set the tone for the whole carnival. Final Scores were CMCFL 13-16 (94) def MFL 10-12 (72).

The Landmark Carnival was now in Perth and on Saturday 8th July, where a round robin competition would be played against the Leagues not having yet played each other at Richard Guelfi Reserve in Balcatta. Central Midlands Coastal played Central Wheatbelt in the first match and dominated from the start kicking 10 goals in the first half. The final score was CMCFL 16.6 (102) def CWFL 2.2 (14). The next match for Central Midlands Coastal was against North Midlands and again we jumped out of the blocks and never allowed North Midlands into the game.

Final score was CMCFL 21.12 (138) def NMFL 1.2(8). The Grand Final was going to be a beauty with two undefeated teams in Central Midlands Coastal and Goldfields to play off to be the champions. The first quarter was even with both teams showing their class and able to score reasonably freely. The second quarter started to see the Central Midlands Coastal midfield start to get plenty of the ball and feed their forwards to give them a handy 40 point lead at half time.
The third quarter was much more of the same, with every move made by Goldfields to bridge the gap, Central Midlands Coastal would have an answer and
lead at three quarter time by 38 points. Goldfields would need a small miracle to win this final and the Central Midlands Coastal team never gave them a chance and held on to win the Grand Final by 32 points to be Division 2 Champions.
