Moora Mavericks Juniors finished the season undefeated winning the CMCFL Juniors Grand Final on the 2nd September against Lancelin. We have been dominant all season and played a great game of footy to come away Premiers for 2017. It was a stunning day for football and a great crowd assembled to watch the game between the top two teams in the competition. Best on Ground awarded by the umpire went to Samuel Cameron who had a great game in the centre.

Our season started back in March with training and there have been 22 boys consistently turn up to training for the season, nine of which playing their first season of footy.

Congratulations to coach Neville Topham. It was his third and final year of coaching the team and he did an excellent job managing the large numbers on the bench and getting all players involved in the game.

Thanks to our sponsors Kumquot  Mae, Webb and Co, Action Outdoor and the Football Club who made it possible to give out awards each week to the players.

We had our Juniors Windup on the 3rd September where the parent and children teamed up for some friendly games of Football, Ultimate Frisbie and Volleyball. A lot of fun was had by all with some parents showing off their skills and competitiveness. Thanks to Les and Wendy Cousins for the team medals and to Sue O’Brien for the Year 7 certificates.

The award winners for the club were Fairest and Best (Moora Citrus):  Samuel Cameron, Runner Up Fairest and Best (Webb and Co): Jack Crago, Coaches Award (Moora Football Club): Callum Machin, Most Consistent (Action Outdoors): Hunter Even and Best Utility (Kumquat Mae): Damon Topham.

All the best to our year 7 players Samuel Cameron, Jack Crago, Callum Machin, Damon Topham, Taj Vanzetti and Luke Walton who graduate from Junior Footy,  thanks for such a great season, and what a way to finish Juniors as Premiers.

Lastly Junior Football is not possible without the support of families. There are huge distances travelled to games and training for some and always little jobs to be done.  Thank you for making it such a memorable season, see you in 2018.
