The mighty Bindoon Bushrangers proved victorious against the Gingin Reds at the South Midlands Cricket Association Grand Final held on Sunday 22 March 2015 at Dandaragan.

Bindoon won the toss and elected to bat – Bindoon’s two openers Bulpitt and Shales headed out to the crease to start the proceedings, on a very slow spongy outfield. Bindoon’s 1st wicket fell when the score was 9 with Shales departing for 4. Yates joined Bulpitt at the crease but Bulpitt departed for 6 and the score was 2/16 after 9 overs. Brennan and Yates put on another 16 runs when Yates fell for 18 when the score was 3/32. Wickets kept falling regularly until Millsteed & Ball steadied the innings and batted another 16 overs to push the score to 59 when both departed on that score. Millsteed made 10 ball 5. Bindoon ended up all out for 68 in the 39th over. Best bowlers Gingin; C.Maughan 3/10 and L.George 2/14.

Bindoon were confident they could defend 68 if they bowled and fielded well. Gingin went out to bat thinking they would get the runs to win. Will Roe and L. George got Gingin off to a good start, with the 1st wicket falling for 15 with George caught out. Will Roe was run out by Patel with the score still on 15. Richards was the next one out with the score on 3/26. Momentum was swinging back to Bindoon.

From then on wickets fell regularly and Gingin were all out for 38 in the 31st over. Best bowlers Bindoon; J.Brennan 3/11, G.Patel 2/9 & C.Yates 2/10. Man of the match was C.Yates. This win brings the Bindoon Bushrangers tally to 3 premierships in a row and they are now 5 from 6 in Grand Final appearances. Awesome results guys!
